Budrus tells the story of a Palestinian community organizer, Ayed Morrar, who unites members of all factions along with Israeli supporters in an nonviolent movement to save his village of Budrus from destruction by Israel’s Separation Barrier. Success looks improbable until his 15-year-old daughter, Iltezam, launches a women’s contingent that quickly moves to the front lines.

The Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall Speaking Tour will be making a stop in Richmond on December 13th at the Wingnut Anarchist Collective. 7pm at 2005 Barton Avenue. Call 804 303 5449 for more information!

Anarchists Against the Wall have been at the forefront of the Israeli  solidarity movement which has joined the Palestinian popular resistance to the wall.  Gal Lugassi, a member of AAtW will speak of their struggle.

If you have money you can donate to support the struggle, please bring what you can! No one turned away though.

“Anarchists Against the Wall (AATW) is a direct action group that was established in 2003 in response to the construction of the wall Israel is building on Palestinian land in the Occupied West Bank. The group works in cooperation with Palestinians in a joint popular struggle against the occupation.

Since its formation, the group has participated in hundreds of demonstrations and direct actions against the wall specifically, and the occupation generally, all over the West Bank. All of AATW’s work in Palestine is coordinated through villages’ local popular committees and is essentially Palestinian led.”

Protest Israel’s Murder of Palestinians – Today in Richmond

Richmond protest called to condemn deadly military attack by Israeli forces on international humanitarian aid activists!

Local anti-war activists and members of Richmond’s Arab-American and Muslim communities will gather from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, outside Richmond City Hall to condemn yesterday morning’s murderous attack – in international waters – by Israeli military forces against unarmed humanitarian aid workers. The protest, a sidewalk vigil, is being called by the Arab American Association of Virginia and the Defenders for Freedom, Justice and Equality.

The protesters will demand the immediate release of the surviving aid workers, international condemnation of the Israeli government for this criminal act and the immediate lifting of the three-year Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

It has been reported that, early on the morning of May 31, 20 unarmed civilians, members of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, were killed and 50 more wounded in an illegal, barbarous and completely unprovoked attack that took place in the Mediterranean Sea some some 75 miles off the coast of the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
